Florin Marinache, ChPC – Head Coach
A Chartered Professional Coach with Coaching Association of Canada, International Shooting Sports Federation Certified C Shotgun Coach, double-certified USA Shooting Level II (national) shotgun coach, Florin has extensive experience coaching our teams in both Olympic-style trap as well as the ATA, at the national level as well as internationally.
Actively involved with developing the sport-specific I-B and Competition Development National Coaching Certification Program context for the Shooting Federation of Canada, Florin is the recipient of the 2009 ‘ATA Coach of the Year’ award, one of the two coaches to receive it in North America. He is also the proud recipient of Shooting Federation of Canada 2019 Coach of the Year Award.
Florin was named National Junior Development Assistant Coach (Shotgun) with the Shooting Federation of Canada in 2014 and appointed as the Team Trap Coach for the TO2015 Pan American Games.
Following the Pan Am Games, on November 1, 2015, Florin was appointed National Trap Coach.
Florin served as Shooting Federation of Canada’s Team Lead and Trap Coach for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Florin is continuing his work with both senior and junior trap athletes as Canada’s National Trap Coach.
Florin is leading our team of shotgun coaches and teaches full time at the Trapshooting Academy, located at 35 Fifth Rd. E Stoney Creek, ON, L8J 3E8, as well as other venues in Canada, the USA, and Europe.
Alicia Marinache – Coach
Alicia is Trapshooting Academy’s first high-performance athlete graduate of 2007.
She distinguished herself in ATA competitions at the Provincial and State level as well as at the Nationals.
A recipient of the 2008 Mark Edmondson award, Alicia won numerous tournaments such as the 2008 Canadian National Doubles Lady Champion, 2009 Provincial Ladies Doubles Champion, Handicap Lady Champion Pennsylvania Grand, High Lady, and High All-Around Champion Great Lakes Grand, and much more.
Alicia a shotgun coach and a mentor, an integral part of the Trapshooting Academy Team and coaches levels 1-3.
Dorin Stanciu – Instructor, Hunting and Outdoors
Trapshooting Academy’s hunting and outdoor expert, Dorin is constantly busy with training hunting dogs, organizing hunting parties, mentoring and instructing new hunters, testing and reviewing equipment and gear, and can be often found lending a helping hand to wildlife and habitat conservation organizations. To further refine his wing-shooting skills, Dorin shoots English Sporting Clays (he even refereed for the ICTSF World Championship), FITASC as well as Trap – his first love.
Whether it is about dogs, ducks, wild turkey, shotguns, ammunition, duck-boats or bush planes, Dorin is at the ready to assist with your next outdoor adventure.
